Picks up where book 10 leaves off. Takes place during the last month of summer vacation before everyone heads off to college.
This is the last book of the series. The books are quick reads. I found them all to be entertaining and enjoyable.

Summer is ending and everyone will be off to college soon! Well, not everyone. Blair and Nate are back from their month at sea, glowing and totally in love. Serena was asked by Mrs. Eleanor Rose to help plan a going away college party for Blair but Blair doesn't like that Serena and Nate are so close again. Nate loves Blair but he also loves Serena too. But that doesn't make his problems all go away. He's in major trouble for ditching his summer work and not getting his high school diploma. So now Nate must decide which girl he wants to be with and what he wants to do with the rest of his life. Blair is so excited for Yale but disappointed when she finds out that Nate won't be attending with her. And Serena has decided to stay in New York to film the sequel to Breakfast At Fred's and she is also excited by the fact that Nate might be staying in New York as well. Dan is still questioning whether he is gay or not, but when he is asked to write a poem for Vanessa's sisters wedding, he finally realizes where his heart lies. Vanessa has been busy with Maid of Honor duties for her sisters wedding. Throwing a bachelorette party, filming the wedding and making sure everything goes smoothly.
This is definitely the best book in the series so far! The writing improved quite a bit but not enough for more than a mediocre rating. But definitely an improvement. Nate is back to being his confused self because he can't choose between Blair and Serena. That's basically what we have been reading about for the past 11 books. I mean, c'mon? And of course, Dan and Vanessa were back and forth consistently as well. But I knew they belonged together. We still didn't find out who Gossip Girl is and at this point, I don't think it will be revealed. I have no clue as to who it is. I don't think it is any of the characters that we know from the story. There were very cute moments in this book that I really enjoyed. The moments between Dan and Vanessa are bittersweet but in the end lovable. I wished we got to see more of Jenny. Her character seemed to really mature more but we got to see less and less of her as the series went on. We also didn't see a lot of Chuck Bass like we do in the TV show. Which was really disappointing!
Only two more books! I hope you have enjoyed reading. Cya!

I wasn't really liking this one (book 11) when I realized it is "created by" Ccily von Ziegesar. I think this is not the same thing as "by" because before even realizing that I could note a difference in style and tone. And I'm no prude but they're dropping f-bombs in this book like everyone on Manhattan's upper east side is a truck driver. But I finished it because this is (I am led to believe) the last of the series and if we want more we've got to pick up the Carlyles. But I think I'm done...my little guilty pleasure run with the Gossip Girls was fun while it lasted!
