It took a while for me to get into, but once I got in I couldn't extract myself. Great characters and the pictures she paints of the settings for her readers is the best.

Can anyone explain the very last sentence in this book? About the eighteen apples

I absolutely love Jojo Moyes so I've given this one more than my normal try... it is so terribly dull though! I can't keep who is who straight how it jumps around and I just give up. DnF

Usually I love Jojo Moyes but this book was just meh.

I really enjoy Jojo Moyes' work but this book is not on par with her other work. The book is too slow in place (the first third) and jumps past too much important stuff in other places (the last third). I also think it was way too long for the story it told.

Another wonderful book by one of my new favorite authors! Just love her style!

Pleasantly entertaining, but not Moyes’s best. It was a good book to listen to while driving around, because missing the layers of detail that Moyes was slathering on didn’t impact the storyline one bit.

Agreed that this was not as good as her more recent books but can see her style evolving in this novel. I did like the stories of the lives in two different generations coming together. I would definitely recommend this book.

Not my favorite Moyers book, I think she hit here stride a little later.

Took me longer than usual (for other JoJo Moyes books) to get into this one, but once I did -- loved it. The intertwining stories were so well done!
