At first, I was at lost I thought it would be a fast catch up to the book 2 but it's actually the journey of Dax and Bell from the crashing to the first contact via comm with Tate and Corin. It actually put you on the context that they actually met people. Good and bad. They make impression. Great scene of action. A bit too long for a short story. But still interesting.

3.5 stars. Again, I seem to say that for the short story, too long. Way too long for what it was. The book is about the journey of hunter and bray. I'm pretty sure ot was the occasion for the author to introduce us to some of new characters. In previous book, when they return to the city they went visit some friend they have met... but I didnt see any friend met outside of the castle in that book. They didnt resolve any mystery, just found more problem and save them. So like I say, this book was the opportunity to introduce some character for the next book. Because I start it already and I have doubts... it could be him or her or ....

This is the start of the Chronicles focusing on Bray and Hunter's experiences after their escape pod crashed near tge capital city.

It gives a wee bit more background to what was going on elsewhere at the same time Corin and Kelly were falling in love.

This one runs at the same time as book one and is basically what happened with Dax and Bell before they met up weighty other guys.

There's lots of Avanti badassery as they make their way to the fallen pod belonging to Corin and Dex and there're more snippets of how far the plotters are willing to go.
