The Christmas Bet

Meg Easton

3.64 AVERAGE

This was such a cute, sweet, fun Christmas listen. A shorter novel/novella, Meg Easton really ticked a lot of boxes. Single parents, one widowed, are thrown together when their kids who are in the same class volunteer them to build a set piece for the holiday pageant. Rachel and Nick have such good chemistry and banter, this book fully made me grin at nothing and want to kick my feet and sigh. Super sweet, wholesome, and adorable, this closed-door romance novel is a great palette cleanser without being boring.

A nice follow-up to the Christmas Pact. I loved seeing the kiddos and family evolve. It was nice to see how Rachel and Aiden were doing as main charcaters now instea dof side characters of Jack and Noelle's story. Nick and Holly were also a great addition to the family. I didn't feel especially connected to this plot line as I had the previous book, but it did hit a lot of emotions and questions I've felt about life after love. This was still an enjoyable book, and I can't wait to listen to the next

I enjoyed this set of three stories that all took place in Mountain Springs. The Christmas Bet was better than the first one and an enjoyable easy listen on audio.

I could tell from the beginning I would like this one. The semi meet cute was funny and such a fun way to start. I knew this one would have some great character depth and it really delivered on that one. The grit of the single parent trope is done very well and I love how the author presented the MMC as a widow and the added layer of that depth.

I loved all the fun Christmas shenanigans, it was such a great Christmas read! And the pacing of it all was well-written. Rachel and Nice are adorable together and I enjoyed seeing how they bonded over the kids. And their quick connection was fun to read.

This was an emotional but lighthearted book all at the same time. I enjoyed Nick and Rachel's love story and Aiden and Holly were adorable as well. I love Meg Easton's books!
