Beckoned: Born Of Darkness (Book 1) by R.B. Fields is a paranormal erotic story with string characters that will really capture your attention. I found myself utterly hooked by them and their story - vampires, a hunter and a whole lot of sexy. The book was well developed from start to finish. The author knew just how to push the story forward and when to pull back just a little. This is a new author for me and if all of their books are like this then I am excited to read more.

Better than I thought it would be

I was expecting an easy romantic read. But by the end, I was definitely wondering about the main female character and wanted to know much more about the 4 main male characters. This book had me enthralled from the moment I opened it. Really well written, good character descriptions while still leaving enough to the imagination to make you want to know more.
Overall, a good book.

Rating this a solid 3.5/5. I really like the prose of the author, but it would have fit better with a 3rd POV narrative. With 1st POV, it is a bit awkward because characters definitely don’t think in such descriptive way.

I find the length too short for the material in the book, although I know it is the 1st in a quartet.

Beckoned: Born of Darkness (Book 1) by R.B. Fields

5-stars

This is the first book by this author that I have read but it certainly won’t be my last, I absolutely loved this one! From the very first chapter I was hooked, Once I started reading, I found it incredibly hard to stop so I ended up reading it in one sitting, and then all I wanted to do once I reached the end was dive into the next book of the series, which I’m really looking forward to reading!

This author wrote with so much detail that I was immediately enticed by the storyline and the fantastic characters. It’s a fast paced paranormal read with lots of action, entertaining and witty characters, and steamy scenes, so many deliciously steamy scenes. It was truly a pleasure to read from start to finish.

This is a book I would recommend to anyone looking for their next paranormal read, you will not be disappointed.

This book left me with a lot of questions and ended with a confusing deus ex machina that isn’t fully explained.

Fated mates are rare in this world, but the FMC is special, so she’s the mate of all 4 of the MMCs. It’s never explained why FMC is special, just that she definitely is. There are apparently two types of vampires, good-ish ones and psycho ones, and it’s not explained why that is either, except that it’s apparently in their blood?

It's a mix of twilight and vampire diaries...not in a good way and not original
