A delightful, quick read about the moon, the Soviets, regret, and escape.
An amazing novella that showcases the unique experiences of Russians who lived through the USSR and its collapse, and the disillusionment that they faced.
Ideology surrounds us, and this story examines the consequences of living in a society whose dedication to ideology reaches the level of absurdity.

Fantastic! Colin Jost, a Russian Studies graduate by the way, highly recommended Pelevin and this book specifically in his memoir, "A Very Punchable Face." Good call, Jost. Terrific absurdist satire, rich and vivid language. This was the book I read while working at the polls today, and it was the perfect length for the day. Just enough down time to read it all the way through at a leisurely, savoring pace.
