NYT Notable Books 2024: 3/100
Another year, another 100 books added to my TBR by the New York Times. This was a solid start to the list for me. Going in, I knew that it was about some American evangelical church, and that was about it. After this year, both in terms of news and books read, I'm kind of over American politics and history, so I wasn't sure how I felt going into this. I'm so glad I read it though. Han shares a fascinating story about racial solidarity within an American evangelical church, how they got there and what it meant in the wider context of the world, since it obviously didn't solve every problem there was. It was interesting to see this juxtaposed with the rest of the politics around Ohio at the time, and even within the church itself.
