The beginning had my blood boiling from the men in this book. But after a wile you get the picture from both sides, and agree they’re both assholes. And communication would have cleared so much up.

When you expect a book to be trashy and it turns out to be exactly that. It’s immature and stupid with crazy jealousy and possessiveness. Characters act like teenagers, well they are barely adults so not that shocking. It reminded me of Zodiac Academy, gives the same vibe.
But omg it’s freaking addictive, for the love of me I couldn’t put it down. Gees I finished it in one day, not sure what it says about my sanity though.
The only highlight is a concept of bonds, something original I never came across before. Oh, and the saving grace I guess, it doesn’t have crazy amounts of smut like other rh books. Well only that one non-con foreplay scene.

I enjoyed this a lot more than I was expecting to. I haven't really read a "bully romance" before because it goes against my moral compass and the treatment of the FMC by some of the characters definitely made me angry but there were some awesome characters too. I hope they become a bit more fleshed out in future books.
The writing wasn't anything special but the main character and the world building had me hooked. I can't wait to read the next book because this ended on a major cliff hanger.

J Bree has done it again! I can’t explain how she creates such spectacular worlds but she does. I have been sucked in and can’t leave. The Bonds That Tie is a great opening to what I can only imagine is going to be an amazing series.
