This is written by the author who wrote FOREVER AMBER, and seems to be an autobiographical telling of her time after she became a famous novelist in the 1940s. She got everything she wanted, except happiness. Readers of FOREVER AMBER will recognize the cast of characters. A great book for those wanting to have a contemporary's look at the times. Engrossing and sad.
