she is an ice princess & the baddiest FMC I’ve read about in a long time!!! sloane for president pls 😅🤞🏼

after getting glimpses of sloane and xavier through the other kings of sin book, I was beyond stoked for their story!! and the slow burn that I was expecting was … not really a slow burn at all! they spent most of the book in a semi-relationship which was refreshing to see

sloane and xavier both have family trauma (which relatable 🙃), and seeing them work through that together in a healthy way was so wonderful. and yes, their fears and anxiety were present throughout the whole book but who isn’t somewhat controlled by their own!! we have to stan realistic characters!!

sloane’s “conflict” at the end was weak and more of a repeat of her thoughts instead of a new realization, and I would have loved to see more of her reasoning behind her actions at the end

also this book was longggggg… and for little reason… I definitely felt the same emotions and story could have worked without at least 100 pages of filler content! but the repetitive nature of who sloane and xavier are at their core was beneficial to see how much they changed by the end so 🤷🏼‍♀️

I WANTED MORE MYSTERY THOUGH MKAY!! give me vuk’s side of the story now please!!!!!

Sloane & Xavier were endgame from beginning.
They are (in my opinion) the most 'grown-up' couple from this series and I loved watching their character and relationship grow.

Did someone challenge Ana to see how many characters she could reference in one book?

Their relationship was cute, I didn’t fully believe in it but it was ok.

This was an unexpected joy. Based on how Xavier appeared in the earlier books, I expected to hate him. And while he definitely starts off as a problem that drives Sloane up a wall, you quickly learn there is more to him than a partying playboy. I really liked watching him and Sloane break down each other's walls and come together. There's a touch of intrigue as Xavier works to meet the terms of his father's will before he loses his inheritance and Sloane deals with the family that cut her off years earlier. Despite my hesitation, this may have turned out to be my favorite in the series.

honestly, i didn’t think that i’d like this one as much as i did. in fact, i usually tab and annotate my books but i couldn’t stop reading that i forgot to tab and annotate in several areas of the book. i really enjoyed sloane and xavier’s love story, even if i thought i’d dislike it because of xavier’s attitude in other books and sloane’s “cold-heartedness”. i understand her reasons for being so closed off and careful with her heart a little too well.
i have two guesses as to who started the fire at the vault and i want my suspicions confirmed!!!
