This whole volume was one heck of a reveal and quite the intense read. The artwork is stunning as always and I really loved the way that before Sebastian took on his butler form he was all sorts of creatures and forms, the way Yana leans into the devilish aspects of the story are well done. The part when all of the mask wearers were shown as moths tearing at the boys was extremely visceral and heart wrenching. I do wish the abuse stuff was a bit less, but I can get what she was going for here. Ultimately, this was another top tier volume of Black Butler that shows a lot of what I had wondered about. The debate about contract terms between Spare and Sebastian was a great verbal sparring match. Now they have their contract of revenge all sorted out, Ciel is dead and had a ring removed from his body, and all the religious fanatics have been killed. So I'm guessing we are about to head into the set up for Ciel's return or Spare's reconstruction of life. What I want to know is how Tanaka was already aware of the difference.
