I keep recommending this series to anyone that will listen. Never would’ve thought that a murder mystery book could be so refreshing and I cannot get enough of it.

I listened to the first one on the series but read this one. Even if the audiobook was really good quality, I recommend reading it if that’s possible for you - I feel I enjoyed it more and was able to absorb more of it and how great Osman’s writing is (this light also just be because of the way I consume audiobooks though)

After thoroughly enjoying the first book in the Thursday Murder Club series, I was eager to read the next entry given that it was generally received more positively than the first. It absolutely did not disappoint, and I loved both the murder mystery and the continued development of the characters.

The four septuagenarians that I loved in the first book were in full force this book, with Elizabeth and Joyce being especially entertaining throughout, but the supporting characters all had moments to shine as well. Establishing the characters in the first book allowed for a murder mystery with much greater depth than the first, and I can say that I definitely did not predict the ending. I enjoyed all the twists and appreciated how everything clicked together as the story progressed.

The humour in the book remained as one of its best features (as with the first book) and I laughed out loud a few times, though it also had some emotional depth with some moving moments. It was enjoyable even when reading in small bursts, and I am already looking forward to picking up the next entry because this series has been a breath of fresh air for me, combining my favourite genres to result in a satisfying read. I don't know if Elizabeth and Joyce can be any more entertaining but I hope that the series continues on this trajectory.

Overall, I give The Man Who Died Twice 5 stars!
