good beach read. i would have liked a little more closure at the end but the story was told from an interesting perspective. all the characters talked about past and present.

This is a horrible book. I love a good beach read, but don't bother with this one....

this follows four couples who live on nantucket island and have very entwined lives. one couple, tess and greg, drown in a boating accident which brings up questions among the group. it’s a very character driven story and features elin hilderbrand’s classic descriptive writing around life on the island. it’s one of those books that makes you realize your problems could be a lot more complicated! if you like reading books about the dramatic lives of middle class people, this is for you. also, really enjoyed the notes that were left by someone in my library book like “sad!”

This is the best book I've read in a while. I loved it. I couldn't put it down. The only thing I didn't like was Delilah. She was my least favorite character by far and I thought the ending could have been a bit better. Maybe I was just disappointed the book ended. As with all Elin Hilderbrand's books, I felt like I was there and I was the characters' friend. Loved it!

I have to say I struggled for a bit trying to get into the story. Slow going and confusing at first- who was with who. Eventually I sunk into these 4 couples lived and got lost.
