Thank you Rebecca L. Garcia & CM Hutton, for providing an eARC in exchange for an honest review! All thoughts are my own and left voluntarily.
Night of the Witch is a dark fantasy standalone that follows Amberwood siblings, particularly Victoria aka Belladonna. After gruesome death of her sister and the ongoing unfair trials of the fellow witches, they are on a path of revenge against Alistair, the notorious witch hunter. And the revenge starts by them getting closer to him. That is where Harrison comes in, the son of the murderer.
What I appreciated in this story is family bond between Amberwood siblings, and banter between Harrison and Corbin. You may support Victoria's revenge plan for the majority, but once you learn more of how the brothers were raised by the unloving father, it will be hard to see everything in black and white. The lines will be blurred, the damage for some will be everlasting but at the end, there will be a light at the end of a tunnel.
There were some scenes and dialogues that put me on pause, the pacing felt sometimes off, and I didn't really feel the banging chemistry between the main couple Tory and Harrison. I can't put my finger on it. They had ofc some spicy moments, but alas, it felt meh for me. Even though her sister Alex and his brother Corbin were not thaaaat often in the picture, I liked them somehow better. Go figure. As for Tory's brother Cas - yeah he was cute, but I wished he was more prominent hah. He's a seducer and a kind soul.
But if these tropes and blurb interest you, it's a great read for the fall season.

Review: ππ¦π€π₯π± π¬π£ π±π₯π’ ππ¦π±π π₯ was the perfect blend of dark fantasy and enemies to lovers romance by the dark duo of Rebecca and Christine! This book kept me on the edge and guessing at what would happen from start to finish and I am anxiously awaiting more within this dark fantasy world! Victoria and Harrison have an intense push and pull attraction that grates on both of their nerves while also pushing them together in the most shocking of ways! ππ¦π€π₯π± π¬π£ π±π₯π’ ππ¦π±π π₯ was a 5 star read that left me in a book hangover after finishing and in need of more!
Victoria was a whirlwind of revenge, chaos and magic in this book and I loved her POV so much! The way these authors created her character and mission for revenge allowed me to immerse myself into her story but also see into who her character was. Rebecca and Christine were able to balance her darker side with her softer side the only her siblings and Harrison saw (albeit reluctantly). Her revenge plotting was also an area that kept me intrigued, especially as we neared the end since I was curious how Harrison would take her quest and he true identity.
Harrison was a stubborn mule of an MMC and somehow perfectly matched Victoria. I found myself rooting for them and hoping that he would accept her true identity when he found out. I also enjoyed the dichotomy of who he was versus who his father, Alistair, wanted him to become. The fraying at the seams he began to go through as his father became obsessed with the witch hunt added a nice flare of mystery and intrigue to his POV as he grew closer to Victoria.
ππ¦π€π₯π± π¬π£ π±π₯π’ ππ¦π±π π₯ was a fast pace, high intensity dark romance full of forbidden love, forced proximity and hidden identities that left me salivating for more. Rebecca and Christine were amazing with creating this story in a new universe and the witch x witch hunter vibes were EVERYTHING!
Rating: 10/10; ππ¦π€π₯π± π¬π£ π±π₯π’ ππ¦π±π π₯ was a thrilling and darkly delicious witch fantasy that kept me on edge until the lat page!

Iβm a huge fan of Rebecca Garciaβs books, especially her captivating paranormal romances, and this one is no exception!
This story is the perfect spooky season read that had me hooked from the very first page. Tori, the fierce and determined protagonist, is on a quest for vengeance after her sisterβs tragic death. As a witch, she finds herself in a perilous game with the witch hunters who threaten her family. To achieve her goals, Tori decides to get close to the son of her sisterβs killer, Harrison, igniting a complex web of emotions and deception.
If you enjoy tales of witches, dark societies, and strong, scorned heroines seeking revenge, this book is a must-read! Itβs a thrilling blend of romance and suspense that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
