Sequel lives up to the first story
Beautiful romance, worthy of Hallmark Channel. We return to the quirky town of Metlin in this second installment of the series for Tayla and Jeremy's story, which was hinted at in the first book, Inked. I loved that we get to delve into new relationships, while also getting an update on the characters we loved in the previous story. I do not recommend reading this book without having read Inked first - it's not necessary but it will make more sense.
Tayla and Jeremy's story is a:
✅️ small-town
✅️ he falls first
✅️ opposites attract
✅️interracial
✅️ she's a curvy, fashion-loving city girl
✅️ he's a geeky, outdoors-loving introvert
✅️ social media influencer
✅️ Rock climber

I wasn't keen on Tayla in the first few chapters of the book, but she did win me over, and I ultimately did love her with Jeremy, who was a really great guy. Just like in Ink, though, there was a tendency for the story to feel as if it was meandering along rather than keep a consistent enough pace throughout. The town of Metlin remains the biggest star of this series, and I'm curious to see what awaits us in the third book, Grit. I'm giving Hooked 3.5 stars. ♥

I found Tayla annoying for nearly half the book. I almost stopped reading, but the chemistry I had anticipated slowly developed between Tayla and Jeremy. I adore this setting and secondary characters. It's probably more of a 3.5 read, but I will round up for now.

Elizabeth Hunter did it again! If you loved Ink, you will not be disappointed! Tayla moved to Metlin to help out her best friend, Emmie in her new venture, a book store-tattoo parlor she runs with her boyfriend, Ox. Tayla counted on moving back to San Francisco as soon as Emmie got things well in hand, a big city girl, she did not expect to fall for the small town, or the small town gorgeous comic book store owner, Jeremy. I loved the chemistry between Tayla and Jeremy, both sweet and spicy! Also love the fictional town of Metlin. Elizabeth paints such a complete picture that I feel as if I have visited this town in person. Take me back to Metlin any time!

I want to know these people, to hang out with them, shop in their shops, and not in a creepy way, I swear lol
I loved the connection the characters had with one another, the depth and just how real it all seemed. It was an easy read that made me feel good. I can't wait to meet other people from Metlin!

I loved almost everything about this, and yet I never reached for it and it took me ages to finish, despite really enjoying it every time I was reading it

I was hooked on this book from the beginning. Jeremy is such a great nerd. How can you not like a guy that comes home to live with his grandfather? My imagination goes crazy thinking of Jeremy and Cary as the go climbing. HOT!!!! Even hotter, was jeremy's wooing of Tayla.
Tayla is not a Metlin native. She moved from San Francisco to help her best friend revamp a bookstore and has yet to go home. She says no to dating because she is temporary. That is until Jeremy wares her down. Swoon. This story is great to get your heart pumping.
