I did enjoy this book but felt it took ages to get into.I've preferred previous Fiona Neill novels.I love the way she describes people and places so you get a real mental image of things but the story just didnt grip me this time.ok but not brilliant.

Not a bad book but not what I expected. If you are looking for a mystery it is not at all. It is a description of a nanny’s life. The story is pretty expectable tho.

I really liked this book. The subject was well researched and explained (I understood what they were talking about when CDOs and other financial topics came up) and the story itself was gripping. Seeing how that one particular family works was fun. Maybe I'm just a nosy person.
Definitely recommend it as it was a fairly fast read too (read it in a week).

It was a really great book for what it was. It wasn't meant to be great high brow literature lol. My only two complaints were that there was quite a bit of telling, but not enough showing and also, there were several story lines that were left hanging. What was Felix's current relationship w Bryony? Why was Bryony so blessedly blind to the sins of the men she loved? What about Nick's "dead" parents? Was the Ukrainian oil tycoon involved in the Katya's trafficking? So many questions!

Long, detailed account of a young English woman who ends up as a nanny for a family embroiled in the financial scandals of 2007-2008. The characters are very well fleshed out, and I actually learned quite a bit about what caused the finance crisis, though the details are mercifully couched in a more mundane story about what it's like to be the hired help for a very rich family.

Overall I just did not like this book. I found it hard to get into (morning sickness may have influenced me and I can't blame Neill for that) and while I enjoyed reading it once I did get interested, the ending left me cold. It seemed anticlimactic and flat. The characters were interesting but not likeable, and not interesting enough to be unlikeable. Overall my impression was a big fat Meh.
