Everything you need to know is in the summary. I absolutely loved this book. It touches on big ideas around assumptions we have when we communicate with different people and being open to different styles of communicating. It’s a lovely world Salt Seno built.

Absolutely darling! If you have any interest in language, linguistics, or intercultural communication, this series is wonderfully charming and translates real world concepts of language acquisition into a fantasy setting. Even if you're not expressly interested in world languages, the world building is immersive and fun. I definitely hope to learn more about the main characters though, as this is more of a travelogue than an in depth exploration of character. Still a fun and sweet read.

This is such a fun story! I really can't wait to get the second volume. I'm usually more into the cutesy stuff, and this has some elements of cute (by that I mean Susuki), but the story is actually really interesting and refreshing ???

I really enjoyed this! As someone studying linguistics this was a fun way to mix linguistics and fantasy - two things I love! This a truly unique and charming manga.
