I greatly enjoyed this book and it's right up my alley. Political intrigue with multiple perspectives and multiple viewpoints. I really enjoyed the Ash Princess trilogy, so I'm looking forward to seeing what the next one has to bring.

The sheer size of this book had intimidated me for years, but I was always really intrigued and am very glad that I finally pulled the trigger on reading it. There was a LOT going on here with so much scheming, plotting and double-crossing, but what I found interesting was how the events built up slowly which meant that by the end it takes you by surprise to find out just how much had happened. The whole time we aren't sure which direction each sisters path will take them and whether they will follow what their mother has set out for them or forge their own way forward. I loved each of their story-lines and the way the different POV's were structured. I appreciated how each one had a distinct voice and I felt like I was able to get to know them each individually in the midst of the intricate plot.

I am a bit disappointed that this wasn't a standalone as the length and slow-burn plot gave it a series-like feel within itself but that ending was still shocking. Of course I expected some sort of climax but nothing like that and I have to admit it sets up future books nicely. I am interested to see how the sisters will rescue the broken pieces of their unique worlds and whether they will retain the strength needed to do right by their people off the back of fresh betrayals and revelations! Happy Reading :)

I really enjoyed Daphne’s story and how the mom was plotting them to die the whole time. Sophie’s story bored me. I wish the second book was out. I get the feeling Sophie isn’t actually dead

2 stars. The concept was cool but just not executed in a believable way. These supposedly devious and cunning sisters were fairly bland, completely predictable, and at times infuriating. Check out Kendare Blake's [b:Three Dark Crowns|28374007|Three Dark Crowns (Three Dark Crowns, #1)|Kendare Blake|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1469265712l/28374007._SY75_.jpg|42750582] series if you want something similar - 5 stars for that series.

An enrapturing fantasy read that follows the triplet sisters who are betrothed to other kings/ kingdoms through a mastermind plan of their mother, the empress.  Magical stardust, reckoning of self, and treason make this a quick read. The ending was heartbreaking but left me salivating for the sequel!

This book started a little slow for me, so it took a while to get into it, but once I was in it, it got really good. It's told from 3 different sisters' POV, and I really liked each sister's unique voice and personality. I liked the unique magic system in this story and the idea of pulling stars down to get wishes. This book has plenty of magic, espionage, political upheaval, and royal family drama that blend together well to make a great story. And that ending! I didn't expect to be surprised by the ending, but the author pulled out the plot twists and I'm still reeling a little over how it all ended. I definitely want to see where this story continues and wonder what the sequel will have in store. Definitely a good recommendation for YA fantasy lovers.
