I enjoyed this book so much! It was a really fun twist on a Dakar romance. It had mystery, some thriller aspects and a great balance of spice. I’m a sucker for a good touch her and 💀 story and this one was spot on! Cannot wait to see what book two has in store. 

Ah. The spice 🌶🌶🌶 the loveable characters. Tegan being a slightly bigger gal 💕 The plot 😍 I love the twist, the nod to the bed of roses. As I was reading I caught onto it quick,  and I couldn't wait to get to the part where it confirmed my suspicion!  The book was so hard to put down,  even though I had to cause of kids. If I was given a chance to read it as long as I wanted. It would have been a one sit read. 
I just couldn't give it a 5 because of the word clit  being spelled slit a few times and how boyish Cole's description of Tegan's body/clothing choice in the beginning. 

I quite enjoy the mix of spice and romance. Whilst I felt that some of the storyline was rushed and there could have been a build up to the mystery instead it seemed to jump fast and focus on the spice. I still found it an easy snd enjoyable read. 

I absolutely LOVED this book!  Steamy, romantic, mysterious, thriller?  YES PLEASE!!  I’ll definitely have what Teagan’s having!!  Who doesn’t want a super ripped, protective, hot AF, “you’re MINE” type of guy?  I mean seriously…Cole was what dream guys are made of!!!  The story drew me in right from the start, Teagan and Cole’ chemistry and banter (of lack thereof)  was 🔥🔥. The mystery/paranormal angle was great and just added to the story!  I could not put this book down!  I can’t wait to read the second book in the duet!!!

This story was pushed as a dark romance, but probably would be better listed as a paranormal/suspenseful romance. 

Bed of Roses is essentially a small town, insta love, story. Having dealt with recent deaths, the main FMC moves to a small town where she encounters mystery and love. 

Overall I enjoyed the story as it developed, and really, the story has great suspenseful elements. But the chemistry/relationship building fell flat for me. Insta-love is such a good trope if done correctly, but it didn't feel like there was a reason for the FMC and MMC to be together. Like they were together just because there was no one else available. The conversations, if at all, were one-sided or only internal when it came to the FMC. I also wasn't a fan of Tori. She wasn't a great friend, she just seemed really inconvenienced when Teagen called her, and more naggy than supporting. 

I enjoyed the writing style - Homie standing by the roses is an image in my head - but just wish there was a little more to the characters.

This was such a good story!! 1 was instantly hooked!! I loved the paranormal aspect of it, the mystery, the love story unfolding and the spice was nice and spicy!!

Wonderful writing. Loved that the characters overcame tragedy to come together.

Bed of Roses (Bouquet of Lies Book1) by DV Fischer is a gothic mystery romance. This book was just a an excellent read. It hit in all the right places and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Cole and Tegan were well written main characters that you just knew were meant to be together. There were a few twists I was not expecting that leave me excited and ready for book 2. Great job!
