Bought this for the sheer pornography and was hideously disappointed. Sloppy writing, indistinct characters, and the author totally blew it by starting with the group sex. Glad it was free, but it wasn't even worth the bandwidth it took to download it.

This is the first time I've read a book like this. Definitely takes erotic novels to a new level. Girls got daddy issues, and daddy is an ass. But the whole plot was a little much for me. I am not into that lifestyle, so maybe that is a real possibility, but to me it seemed very unrealistic. That being said, I am intrigued enough to contemplate reading the next book in the series.

This took me a bit to get into but I enjoyed it. It did seem a bit rushed and I'd hoped to feel more of a connection between the characters.

Solid 2.75 stars and a very promising start to a series.
I am a firm believer that the first book in a series of standalones will never be the best of the series. For me, the first book is the intro to the characters you will soon fall in love with. It's sets the precedence of the series, gives you the lay of the land so to speak. And I prefer it this way. I still really enjoyed this book however it wasn't the best. (This is my second reading of it) Sommerland does well with building the foundation of the series, setting the tone and introducing you to all the characters you'll meet as the series progresses. I was a tad confused during the sex scenes at first just because it was a lot to follow and she wanted us to feel the confusion that Oriana felt.
All in all, it is well worth your time and only gets better with each book.

I enjoyed this book, though there were several things about it that just threw me. Overall, it was an enjoyable read.
First thing that threw me was the flipping back and forth between first names and last names. Some of the characters referred to the other characters by last name and some by first name, so which way it was depended on the point of view. Considering this is the first book and the girl is involved with five men, it was very confusing to figure out who was doing what. I often have that problem with scenes with more than three participants, but the name flipping made it that much more confusing for me. I *think* at this point I know which first names go with which last names, but I'm not positive, lol.
Second thing is that it seems a little unrealistic for a woman who seemingly had very little sexual experience to open up so quickly to the idea of five men. Granted, these were all hot men, but considering her lack of confidence in herself, it just seems like someone more secure in their sexuality would more easily move into something like this.
Third, I'm still not sure that I get the draw of Sloane. He was a dick for most of the book (though we did see some tender parts), but Oriana was still drawn to him. He didn't give her much to go on, but she clung to him.
Lastly, the whole "additional player" at the end seemed to sort of come out of nowhere. I don't recall clues to what happened, and it was sort of dropped after it did.
All told, though, it was a very sexy story -- how could it not be with one woman and five men? -- and enjoyable. On to #2.

So...first off I need to be honest and say I have a hard time with multiple partners. A triad is hard to pull off. Only one author I know has done it right (IMO) and that's Lauren Dane. And even she went off the rails a bit with her Brown Siblings series.
Unfortunately, Ms. Sommerland is NOT a writer of Lauren Dane's caliber. This was a hot mess from the very beginning. There were so many names for the guys I didn't know who was doing what to whom. I still was not clear in the end what was happening.
This was a frustrating read for me. I wanted to enjoy it but could not do it. Have ZERO desire to read the rest of the series. As far as I'm concerned, all the good guys are taken.

What I read from the summary, I expected to have gotten more than I did. I just wasn't feeling it, for some reason. I will give her a star for effort and the second star is simply because I felt bad about rating it one star.
Oriana seems to be like one of those little girls playing dress-up in mommy's clothes. You know the one playing in mommy's make-up while she's out. Yeah, I felt like she wasn't mature enough to take on the type of relationship she was seeking out. Even after her dad continuously rejected her, she kept coming back like a kicked puppy. I liked Silver, but we didn't get nearly enough of her as I would have liked. Silver just seems more like me. The fact Oriana had to look to her sister for guidance baffled me a little bit, even disturbed me at times. You would think the older sibling would have their shit together so they can give advice to the younger sibling and not the other way around.
I found Oriana to be weak, to be honest. She pretty much lived her life the way her father and Paul wanted her to live it. How long had she done this until she decided she wasn't happy with the way things were going? What didn't sit right with me was the way she treated Tyler. She knew she wasn't interested in him, but she constantly toyed with him like it was going out of style.
Another thing that ticked me off was the fact that she would refer to some of the characters by last name. There was a section towards the end of the story where Tim and Dean Richter were both in the same scene and she only referenced their last name. I had to go back to see which one was ushering them to his office. I never figured it out until she stated his first name towards the end of said scene.
I felt the development of her and Max's relationship was lacking. I was under the impression that her and his relationship was at the top of this hierarchy, then she would have little trysts with the others when the mood struck. I didn't even expect that initially, to be blunt. I assumed the story would have been centered around her and Max more than it was. Honestly, Max's desires weren't nearly as sick as one would be led to believe from reading the summary. His desires were a little bland and lackluster. Sloan was the only one at the opposite end of the kinky freak spectrum from everyone else.

This was my second time reading this book and I loved every minute of it. It was one of my first experiences reading about multiple relationships in one. I found myself learning from the Oriana in her innocence and as it grew into true love with the men in her life. A great read both times.
