Picture book biographies are favorites of mine. This story about a gifted young dancer who overcomes tremendous obstacles is right up my alley. More importantly, it is a fabulous read for girls and boys working hard to achieve their own dreams. The illustrations are exceptional. The dancers twirl and flow across the pages. So lovely!

The inspiring story of Alicia Alonso, the prima ballerina from Cuba. She became a prima ballerina in spite of being partially blind.

Beautifully illustrated.

Very pretty drawings, cool to learn about how she danced adapting to becoming disabiled.
Obviously it doesn't go into great depth as a children's picture book.
