This...wasn't what I expected it to be. The premise was promising - I mean, c'mon, friends to enemies to lovers + a reverse harem? That shit coulda been so good. But unfortunately, it was underwhelming. The only guy I actually liked in the harem was Marco. The rest of the guys tho had the personality of a wet piece of cardboard. Especially Santos. God that dude really pissed me off. His character development could have been SO good. Supposedly betrayed by his ex girlfriend but then he finds her again, sorts things out and gets his redemption arc. That would have been amazing. But all that this dude did was pin her against the wall, say sorry and basically acted hot and cold with her throughout the book. Also, homegirl's been through sm shit omg. It's like the authors decided "how much do we want to traumatise this poor girl and fuck her up for good?" Some of the changes in her behavior - especially as a former drug addict - felt a bit abrupt and unrealistic. However, the one thing that I really appreciated was the fact that Eden was a sex worker. I really liked that. Usually, we get to see a double standard where the H moves on and sleeps with half the female population while the h stays celibate. I hate when that happens. And I'm glad that this wasn't the case in this book (eventhough the reasons for Eden sleeping with different men were more of a need than a want). Overall, I found this book to be not bad. But it wasn't great either. With that being said, I def won't be reading the second book in this duet - I don't have the patience lol.

Safety Squad:
- h sleeps with two OM in the beginning (she's a sex worker) + one of the Hs tries to get a BJ from an OW (after seeing the h and finding out that she was having sex with two OM) but pushes her off because he can't do it and keeps thinking of the h (surprisingly ya girl wasn't triggered during these scenes lmao)
- sharing/reverse harem
- no condoms
- mafia/moderately dark romance (for me)
- explicit scenes involving degradation, sex, gore, violence, murder
- rape/sexual assault of the h (descriptive)
- no HEA (since it's part one of a duet)

It took me a few chapters to get into it but then I couldn’t put it down. Now I just HAVE to read the second book of the duology!

I want to know why none of the reviews say that there’s detailed sex scenes between minors. I don’t want to read that!!! I thought it was weird that Santos said he didn’t do touching but he kissed the girl from the bar in the mouth. Also, why didn’t he get the tat covered?

Woozier what a fantastic action pack series. OMG Edie is my hero what that poor woman had to go through. Thankfully her 4 guys were there to support her. The romance was off the wall. Very well done.

The first hird was good - it had tension, it had questionable life choices, it had a lot of twisted sweetness. Then I think the plot got in the way, and suddenly the FMC was making some objectively stupid decisions, doing a 180 on her behaviour previously. I honestly think some of the plot should have been saved for the second book, and this one should have focused on the characters' dynamics. With five main characters, there can only be so much plot before you start losing ground on their relationships.

Probably one of the darker books I’ve read, but I got hooked in right away and liked the writing. Was very spicy but there was also some SA which was hard to read

4 stars

Again, this author isn't afraid to delve into the gritty. It makes me like her that much more because she's go to know that the pearl-clutchers out there are going to have a field day if they read this book.

Very interesting premise. Liked the characters and the ugliness of this world, especially, for Eden. Looking forward to the conclusion.

Wooooowie!

This book is part one of a duet series (each book being full length). I thoroughly enjoyed reading this, and parts of it made me cringe HARD (mostly due to the abuse Eden endures). Please heed the TWs if certain abuse triggers you, this book will not be for everyone, and that's okay!

This story follows Eden and her "kings", Giovanni, Anthony, Marco and Santos. After a huge misunderstanding/unfortunate circumstance, Eden becomes homeless at 17, leaving her boyfriend, Santos, to wonder what happened. Years later they stumble into the strip club she works at and finds her drug addicted.

My husband kept distracting me, and then I ended up sick, so I was able to live in this world much longer than I normally do (7 days from start to finish) and I soaked up every bit of it that I could. I can't wait to read book 2 and find out what happens in the "GAMES" (IYKYK) story.

Holy smokes!!!

This was an adventure! Started with bang and continued with booms! I love every character, twist, turn, and reveal! This writing was phenomenal for me and I never lost interest in this storyline. Can't believe I haven't seen this one recommended yet.
