Jules is a deeply infuriating character. Her consistent self victimization and self putting would be more grating from a less talented writer. Tanner is able to show rather than tell the complex relationship between an older and younger sister. She especially captures the undercurrent of jealousy that tinges the cruelty that Jules treats Poppy with.

I can't help but hope for the best for these two characters. They're trying to break the cycles they been stuck in and there is some hope by the end that they just might.

The audiobook was so so funny, very depressed millennial core. It had a realistic interpretation of sisters. Very slice of life. Not sure I liked how it ended but I did enjoy it.

Lost patience waiting for a plot that never came. The characters are realistic as far as how awful they are, but that doesn't make me want to spend time with them.

This book explores two millennial sisters who hate each other. Both don’t like their current circumstances but don’t do anything to really fix it. Jules is obsessed with tradwife mommy influencers peddling mlm products and dangerous ideologies. Poppy is obsessed with themselves and whatever illness they have. This book discusses mental illness and other related topics. I think this book is an accurate take on what the millennial experience is.
