I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either. Unfortunately it felt like not much happened. I appreciated the diversity of the characters and the discussion of the FMC's experience as a biracial white-Asian woman. I honestly might have DNFed if it were not an ARC; I wanted to give it a chance. Additionally, the characters read as much younger and less mature than they were written as. I did like the spice!
