I really liked the premise of this, and I saw the author at a book event and she was very engaging but I just lost interest half way through. I was mildly interested to find out whether the main character has the faulty gene but not enough to try to get into it a second time. Not for me. Sorry!

Solid 3.5 stars. I didn't find it to be the most wonderfully written book, but I enjoyed the characters and it did manage to hit me in the feels a few times. I felt that the topic of a chronic disease was well handled, as well.

I guess you could call this chick lit with substance. The only type of chick lit I can handle. I even cried a tiny bit.

You Me Everything by Catherine Isaac is a love story, mainly lighthearted but with some deeper parts.  Jess is a single mom to William, with a lot of help from her parents.  His father, Adam, has been absent for most of his life.  Adam runs a hotel in France, and Jess and William go to spend some time with him this summer.  Jess has a motive-her mother is sick and has been diagnosed with Huntington’s, a horrible disease (third book I’ve read this year with a character afflicted with Huntington’s!!), and Jess has been tested and has the gene as well.  She needs to see if Adam will be there for their son.  Over the course of the visit, Jess and Adam both come clean about what really happened between them all those years ago.  Nice story with a mostly happy ending.  Good beach read.  @youmeeverything #catherineisaac #lovetoread #takeapagefrommybook #booknerd #readallday #familystory

A page turner. Impressive debut novel. Loved that this ended up being much more than a fluffy love story. Don’t want to give much away but will say that there were some surprises in where this story went. My take away... live your best life. You never know where life will take you.
