April Showers Bring May Flowers by Renee Grace Thompson is a heartwarming, feel good book that is easy to fall into and easy to stay hooked on.

Lucy has just moved into her grandparents old house. Faced with the task of clearing out all their old belongings, and the emotions attached with it, she knows she will struggle.
Cade has been unstructured by his father to lend a hand. Help Lucy with the heavy lifting, a half day given up and Jen back on with his life.

When the two meet fireworks spark immediately. Banter fuelled by chemistry is the basis for their relationship, but could this lead to something more.

This book ended up having much more depth than expected when I initially started reading it. It added more complexity to the characters which I enjoyed and found it made reading about them even more interesting. A very enjoyable and easy read I wouldn’t hesitate to read more by this author.

April Showers Bring May Flowers ( New Haven Police Romance :Book 2)

This is an excellent story! There are so many levels working through this book. One of my favorite lines in the book is “ everyone has a story. We all have ups and downs.” I really like that comment. So true! While reading this there were many emotions that filtered through me. I will say the most common was sitting here with a Big Silly grin on my face. Then there were those time I laughed out loud with some OH s/he did NOT just do that! There was a serious element that brings light to the struggle that some foster kids deal with.
The First meeting between Cade and Lucy was a freaking fantastic! That whole chapter actually was laugh after laugh! Lucy has the perfect opinion on ticks and spiders I chuckled as she was walking through the field knees high...then She asked a question and Cade made a comment on how walking knees high would not save her. Hahah then what happened after that...had me laughing out loud!! So much for her tough girl image. *grins*

The colored streak of Lucy’s hair. It’s a great idea. I think it made her unique. Being a cop is so stringent but yet she has this wild side. I really enjoyed Gus and Ella. I loved their enthusiasm but also the whole “trust issue”. It was great to see their characters grow. Gus almost seemed more worldly than his age. He always seems to know what needs done. He is very good at reading people

Ok this is a first time author for me and I’m pretty sure it won’t be the last time I read a book from her. I did not read the first book on this series and I had no problems understanding the storyline. I cannot wait for Hank and Sarah’s book!! So excited!

April Showers Bring May Flowers (New Haven Police Romance Book 2) by Renee Grace Thompson is the second book in her New Haven Police Romance series. This is a contemporary romance mixed with some comedy that will take you on a roller coaster ride of various emotions. This is my first story by this author and I enjoyed her writing style and creative characters. I loved how she pulled me in from the first word and kept me engaged until the end. Her characters are connectable, lovable, true to life and will make you laugh. This is the story of Lucy and Cade. Lucy has just moved to a new town and like her dad has taken a job with the police force. She has no family left and feels like she is alone and lost in this world. That is until she meets one persistent man named Cade. Their relationship didn't start out the best and they meet when he comes to help her out with her grandparents house. The more time they spend together the more they start feeling an attraction for each other. Because both of them have some insecurities neither one feels like they are good enough for the other. Is it possible that these two can find a way to be together? It was great to see these two grow throughout the story. I loved both characters as they made me laugh and feel compassion in other parts. This really is just a sweet story that will keep you reading until the last word. I highly recommend this story as I know you will want to see what happens between this home town boy and police officer.

April Showers Bring May Flowers is the second book in the New Haven Police Romance series by Renee Grace Thompson. It’s a contemporary romance that has quite a lot of emotional content, a little drama and some humour. This is the first book that I have read by Ms. Thompson, and I can honestly say that I will definitely be reading more of her work.
This story is a heart-warming, feel good story- that centres on the slow-burning romance of Lucy and Cade. I enjoyed the way this author wrote their story, drawing in the reader and getting them to emotionally invest in her very charming characters- I found myself rooting for them right from the beginning, wanting them to find the happiness they deserve.
I could understand how Lucy was feeling, having recently moved to New Haven and having no family left, she’s feeling a little lost and alone. She’s a Police Officer, and has quite an upfront and honest demeanour, with a bit of a wild streak- she may be small but she’s a real pocket rocket.
Cade is a no nonsense, persistent guy who values (and tries to cultivate) trust. He cares deeply for the people in his life, but has a past that haunts him. When he and Lucy meet for the first time, things get off to a bit of a rocky start. But as they spend time together and get to know each other, the more their attraction and feelings, develop. But they both have issues and insecurities, I don’t think either of them thought they were good enough for the other. We follow these two, watching as they experience all the highs and lows of their journey. I was laughing out loud at times, while other moments had my heart aching. I am hooked by these delightful characters now, and will go back to read the first book so I can get to know them and their stories, so much better.

Thank You, Ms. Thompson!

What an awesome book!!! I didn't read the first one of this series YET, but really wish I would have, not because I was lost at all in this story but because I just looked and the author says that the same characters are present throughout the series and I absolutely loved every character in this book. This story was so real, and the issues in the book were so real, and how it was all handled and put together was simply awesome.

I laughed on and off through the whole book, I felt extremely sad at times and even got angry a time or two. Cade and Lucy might just be one of my favorite book couples ever, I loved that their interaction wasn't always perfect, it was real, that's the only way I can describe it. Her sassiness and his way of handling her was so much fun. I can't even organize my thoughts for this review, I loved so much about it that I want to write every single thing that happened but no one else would have to read it, and everyone has to read it. I read it in one sitting and will read the first as soon as possible and can not wait for the third.

I have to also mention that I loved the note at the end from the author, it made me think back to parts of the book and gave them new meaning. I love this author's writing style and how she weaves her words into something you can not put down.

Many thanks to Miss Thompson for allowing me to spend a couple hours in New Haven and for writing such an amazing story!

This was my first book of this series, amd I feel it can be read as a standalone since I didnt feel like i was thrown into the middle of a story. Told in dual POV of Lucy and Cade. This was a sweet, clean read with only kissing.
Lucy has moved to a new town and joined the police force, like her dad. Having no family left, she feels lost and alone until one persistent man named Cade comes to help her sort through her grandparents home.
As they go through one of the most intense first days  of knowing each other, they start to feel an attraction but feel they aren't good enough for one another.
Can the local boy with a past and the new girl who feels lost, help each other?

I really liked this story, it had the laughs and the sad all mixed in but each new turn in the story had me wondering if I could laugh or cry any harder than the last!
