This is a fast paced story that really hits the ground running. It throws you straight into the storyline and the lives of the characters. I thought the characters worked well together. It was a little hard to believe how quick the relationship seemed to progress sometimes but they had a strong connection that fit with the story.
This is a new author to me and I enjoyed the writing style. I enjoyed how fast paced the book was and therefore how quick I read it. This book is a great way to pass an afternoon.

This is a 3.5 for me. Sofia is on the run from her violent ex. She has changed her name, moved and started a new life for herself. Things are good, until she gets a text from him. She literally bumps into Theo, who is a detective recovering from being hurt on the job. The have instant attraction. When Theo finally gets Sofia to tell him what is going on, he vows to help her. So the story line is good, I like the characters. I am not a fan of instalove at all, so I tended to gloss over that. I would have liked to have seen the scenes with the ex played out a little bit longer, it felt a little rushed to me.

Etched in this Moment (Etched #1)
By Calla Zae

5-stars

This was my first book by this author so I wasn’t really sure what to expect but my goodness they have themselves a new fan! Right from the get go I was intrigued and captivated by the characters and their seemingly traumatic pasts.

This storyline moves quickly but in the best way possible, I was still able to connect with the characters and believe in their connection. I’m so happy with how everything played out and I can’t wait to continue this series asap!

If you are looking for a quick powerful romance read look no further this is the book for you!

The storyline for this book is extremely fast-paced. Theo and Sophia (Tia) run into each other on the street just as she gets a text message that scares her. Theo is intrigued and attracted to Tia and he is unsettled when she closes down and abruptly leaves when she learns he works in law enforcement.

When Tia agrees to go out to dinner with Theo things between them get super serious almost immediately. I found the fast paced relationship a bit abrupt and Theo’s super protective attitude struck me as overbearing and too much too fast. His desire to protect her is acceptable but his claiming her as his girlfriend and some of his comments seem a little too much especially for a woman who is hiding from a sociopath ex-boyfriend.

The fast paced romance doesn’t give much opportunity to learn much about the characters and took away some of my enjoyment with the book.

I received an ARC from Hidden Gems and the author, and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

Serendipity At Its Finest ❤️

Firstly, if you haven’t gotten a copy of Gemma and Tyson’s story, there’s a link at the end of this story that you’ll want to click on. Now, Theo and Tia/Sophia’s story. I started their story, and could not put it down! The pacing of it was absolute perfection, and it actually had a wonderful sense of realism that made it very believable. There were several moments during the book where Theo’s gestures and words to Sophia had me in tears, and in general, just the whole book tugged at my heartstrings in all the best ways. When you throw in mystery, danger, action, off the charts chemistry, a strong heroine, and a protective alpha hero, you just basically have an awesome book that you need to read….NOW lol.

I received an advanced reading copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This book jumped right into the plot, no build up or dragging on just straight into the good stuff and it works so well for this story! And the romance, there is no slow burn here but I love the way Calla manages to give us fast paced romantic relationship progression without it seeming forced.

A big part of this I feel was Theodore’s character. He’s charming and cheeky and the way he jumped straight into his feelings for Sofia felt perfectly suited to him from the very first time we meet him.

This is my second of Calla Zae’s books and I have to say I love how she writes her FMC. They have baggage, heck Sofia says so herself, but she writes them in such a way that shows they don’t let it bring them down. They’re strong and resilient and though they fall in love they know they can (and have!) survived on their own.

This is a fun and suspenseful holiday read with the only downside being that now I really want more Theo and Sofia!

(ARC for which I volunteered my honest review)

This is my first read by this author and I enjoyed this alot.
Was pretty fast paced, coming in at just under 200 pages so made for a quick read as well. Was a really great story but i felt I wanted more in some places but thats me being greedy. I liked these two alot but felt Theo was a little too much at times but again a quick read so I understood a little bit as to why.

I cant wait to read more in this series!

What do you do when justice can’t be served?!
Tia ran and changed her life and her habits and recreated herself, her past however was right around the corner.
This is one of my most enjoyable books this month.
It is full of adventure and suspense.
I love a good male MC that saves the day.
This is book one of a series and I am so excited to know more.
There is a slight trigger warning but it is not devastating.
Just enough of the hold my breath moments that have you excited to reach the last page.
I loved watching the relationship that Tia builds within her self and her savior.
Ooooooo the cover does not do it justice you can feel that heat building but …..
Well written, quick and enticing.
I’m honestly stuck between four and five stars but i deserves hype.

This was a great 5 star read.
Sofia (Tia) has a secret, a secret that she holds very closely. But when she gets a text her fears come crashing down on her again. She is a little jumpy and cautious of her surroundings when she meets Theo. When Theo see’s her he is immediately drawn to her and wants to get to know her better. He has also seen something in her eyes that has pulled his detective instincts to the forefront. Who is she and why is she scared?

Of course Theo is persistent and finally gets Sofia to go on a date. Things take off from here. The chemistry between them comes off the pages. Sofia is slowly starting to trust Theo, although his career makes her nervous. Can she learn to fully trust him and get a HEA?
This was a great suspenseful romance and I can’t wait to read more from this author and series. 1-click and get started today.

A fast paced romantic drama that leaves very little to the imagination. While I think the author had a great idea for a plot there are a few plot holes and it feels like some of the characters didn’t get as fully fleshed out as they should have. That said it’s not a bad story.
I love the way Sofia/Tia’s character plays off the plot and off Theo. Domestic violence never ends well but Sofia has gone into hiding to protect herself. When she meets Theo sparks fly. When she starts receiving frightening text messages Theo pulls out all the stops to keep her safe.
Overall a good read! I am excited to see where this author takes us for book 2.
