Agatha Raisin is an amuter sleuth who always ends up making the police mad at her for interfering with their cases. In Agatha Raisin and the Day the Floods Came, she ends up getting involved in another case. She's headed home when she stops on a bridge with everyone else and sees a bride floating down the river. She's intrigued when she finds out the bride had been frozen. I do like this series bc Agatha is kind of cranky but wears her heart on her sleeve. I do wish she would mature a little bit and stop pinning for James.

Finally! Agatha isn't pining over men! A quick, fun read.

This was a fun one. The variety of companions without all of the usual angst of teenagerish pining over james was fun. i like an agatha who isn't a pushover. but i do have two questions:
1) how can alf be so un-Christian in his attitude to others? i mean, he's a minister!
2) how do people always make such stupid choices over and over again?

I really enjoyed this book I liked the new characters and it being away from the village at times. I do find Agatha like a teenager and it can be grating at times. It would have been a 4 but the reveal was boring and seemed rushed.
The plot itself was good as usual but the problem I had with this one was they introduced a new character as her neighbour. He is a writer. He doesn’t really get women. He is quite a cold person. Basically he is James Lacey but with a different name. It’s all a bit stupid and played out. Also some of the police work seemed to be a bit lacking in this book too and they came across as stupid.

Another installment in the Agatha Raisin cozy mystery series. I enjoy the atmospheric world-building, small-town shenanigans, and cozy audiobook narration by Penelope Keith.
