So glad we are getting Axel (Aka Glams) story! I love a big broody protective man and Axel is the very definition! He is the bodyguard at the club and takes his job very serious, even more serious now after they had an incident previously! Enter our new guy- skittish little Aiden looking to start over away from his abusive ex. These two are immediately drawn to one another, like they recognize a similar soul, both trying to move forward from pasts that have left them with emotional scars. Aiden is a bit wary of Axel and Axel is sweet on Aiden right away but they form a friendship before moving into a relationship. I love all of Axel's protective instincts! it is told from both POV so you get all the feels and emotions! I have been loving both of these New connected Series a lot!!! - Greenford and this one Club Nocturne. The stories are all about one couple but love the intersecting locations and previous characters! in this one Dan Especially! I received an ARC of this book and I highly recommend this story for those who like a sweet romance of hurt comfort, protectiveness with a size difference!!! oh and Cute Cats alert! Enjoy!

Aiden and Axel, despite their outward appearances, have more in common than not.
Aiden was in an abusive relationship. Leaving to make a better life for himself, was one of the best decisions he could have made.

Axel ended up being the perfect man for Aiden. Equally loving and protective.
Nothing is as easy as it seems when the ex, comes back- seeking revenge. Determined to make Aiden his-again, The two men must work together to protect their love and one another from danger.

A natural progression from coworkers, to friends and finally, lovers.

3.5 stars.

This was pretty entertaining overall, minus a few detractors.

The climax everyone could see coming was fairly manipulative and I wish could have been more original.

SpoilerThe hospital scene afterward though, geez that was OTT. All that bickering and nonsense as Aidan was finally coming to was so insensitive. I get that the point was to show Aidan had a new family backing him, but the endless sniping wasn’t needed.

SpoilerI wish the HEA was better or longer. Aidan should have joined a theater troupe or taken up acting classes again (in addition to staying at Nocturne). Maybe Aidan could also help Axel get his GED.

SpoilerThe interaction between Rico and Aidan was also pretty bad. I get they want Rico to be a grumpy asshole, but they should have had a secondary scene where Rico apologizes to Aidan’s face. Aidan’s half-hearted reasoning to Axel wasn’t good enough.
