This book is boring. You know, to me. I understand it's historical importance and I think fans of fantasy novels written about far off lands with too many characters might get more out of this than I did. The entire book is about one person trying his best to convince other people what is best for them.

really interesting case study of the contradictions between che's latin american rabid marxist internationalism and the social-economic consciousness of africa at the time (and subsequently over the decades since). it's like an unstoppable force hitting an immoveable object, ending in disaster and collapse! theres a lot to unpack i really think part of it comes from che's more traditional view on ML revolution not quite being compatible with the social-economic ties (then and still being horribly exploited by western nations) that were challenged and uprooted by rapid colonization and decolonizatio at the time.

che makes this mistake a lot, so i think its important not to understand african civilization and social existence as "underdeveloped" or "behind" in a strictly linear sense because ultimately this society exists in concert with the modern day "developed" society! idk im not an expert on this stuff and im not african but i think that makes it even more important to keep in mind. Lovely book tho!
