A good story though quite slow at times with long periods of internal thoughts that could have been shared in other ways and shortened the book of unnecessary details. Enjoyed the erotic/BDSM moments though they weren't very numerous or of very much variety. The Lexie and Leigh side stories weren't at all interesting to me.

Adam and his friends normally go to Stronghold but decide to visit Chained as a change, when he saw the woman, he was instantly attracted, she said she was a Domme, but there was something off in her body language.
Seeing Adam, she felt herself shiver and she had to leave, because staying he would make her want to stop pretending that she was there for research.
Having to do another intro scene, Adam couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw Angelia who was meant to be Angie, he could see her shock, with trust and dishonesty being a big part of BDSM, how could he believe she was being honest now, saying she was a submissive.
Angel couldn’t believe it was Adam and she knew he was attracted to her, but didn’t want to be, he looked angry at her but that soon changed to looking like he wanted to devour her, and she had a tingling all over and he hadn’t even touched her.
Angel was everything Adam could see he would want in a submissive, her response to him was there and he couldn’t deny he wanted her, but he could he get over the fact that she lied to him, and his lack of trust in her, while overcoming issues from his past and build their trust to have a lasting relationship.

Unless you are against menage stories, I STRONGLY recommand you read the Venus series before this one, I didn't and now I regret it, you can enjoy the book but I think you enjoy it even more having read the "prequel" series.

Now that this is out of the way, I was this close to giving this book a 5 star, because the story is really good but I think there is way too much description, it's overwhelming. I found myself scimming a lot because of that and probably missing important plot points and that's sad. Also, the story doesn't really begin until the 22% mark, which is when Angel finally goes to stronghold. I like a bit of an intro to the actual story and the idea of a sub going to a club as a dom for safety was a great idea that I enjoyed but 22% for the actual story to begin is a little much imo.
Other than those two issues, it's a great book! Adam and Angel have great chemestry, their story is believable and it makes you want to know what will happen with other characters (especially Lexie and Patrick for me).

If you like BDSM books, with sassy submissives and fierce but sweet doms, a lot a description and a great sequel possibility, this book is for you!

Character’s Descriptions:
Angel is a Seamstress, Dance instructor, and a Self Defense instructor.
Adam Owns his own temporary agency and is a DOM

Summary Paragraph:
Angel is scared to go into the club she wants to join alone so she checks out another club by portraying herself as a Domme when she is really a Submissive. This is where she originally meets Master Adam and she wishes she was being a sub because she really likes him and just wants to kneel at his feet,

Adam is a Dom with trust issues. He has a hard time trusting anyone due to his mom leaving him behind. He instantly like Angel but thinks she is a Domme.

What I liked/Didn’t Like: I liked the book and the characters who were fun to get to know but I only gave it 4 stars as no mention of the safe part of Safe, San and Consensual credo for the BDSM community is mentioned. Other than that the book was a fun read and I can't wait to read more about these characters.

I don't know how to feel about the fact that I adored this book. Also, the communication was so much better than most romance novels! Like their big argument was fixed so quickly, BECAUSE THEY COMMUNICATED!

This book was a wonderful example of how there can be drama without poor communication being the majority of it.

Strong characters and sexy as hell

Interesting and hot story in a weird but very sexy atmosphere and environment. The characters were hot and with a great chemistry.

I’m a historical gal, and usually pretty vanilla in my romances, at least. I didn’t think a) modern or b) bdsm/kink would be my schtick but Golden Angel has outdone herself this time and I am in love/lust. The chemistry and characterization is masterful, electric.

🚨🚨 red alert romance readers, the stronghold series is a green light!‬

The writing wasn’t terrible, but sweet baby Jesus it was too long. Seriously like 200 pages could have been taken out and it would have been better. There’s a huge cast but not much plot so we get a lot of filler to set up for subsequent books.
And goddamn I don’t mind Mary Sues, especially in romance, but could it BE more obvious the heroine is supposed to be the author. I haven’t read a Mary Sue this extreme since [b:The Name of the Wind|186074|The Name of the Wind (The Kingkiller Chronicle, #1)|Patrick Rothfuss|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1515589515l/186074._SX50_.jpg|2502879].
