First book in the Stronghold series & what a way to start. I know that the series has finished, but I've only just read this book, & while I have read a few others in the series, they definitely weren't read in order. That being the case, I can say that I had no problem reading this as a standalone story - basically because it is. Yes, the same characters flow through the series, but each couple gets their own story, & this belongs to Adam & Angel. It was great! The characters were interesting & fun, the settings were enjoyable & great to read. The storyline flowed nicely with a nice pace that kept me interested to the point that it was always 'just one more chapter'! This book had a nice amount of heat to it but also had some genuinely chuckleworthy passages as well, especially when some of the other characters were included. The only reason for 4 stars & not 5 is that I found the inclusion of all the characters very close together kept me off balance for a bit & I had to work at keeping them all straight. However, given that I quite often find this when I start a series, regardless of the author, that's probably more me than the writing.

Weird monogamy culture for a BDSM club based book, especially since there is a triad. BDSM is also default assumed to be sexual.

Perfect, such a nice book. It had some issues with being very stereotypical and I found myself in the beginning not liking much of how the female character taught. But who am I to judge when I threw my feminism out the window to read this and I freaking enjoyed it so much. Thank you Vera for recommending! Will be continuing this series without shame :D

A strong willed girl looking for a dominant man. An addicting love story with some twists and turns. Must read.

You can tell this is a much earlier book. It's just densely impenetrable as half of the characters have the same name so I have no idea who is being talked about.
