I just love the way Jo Jo Moyes writes. A lot of times, when I’m reading several books from one author, I can sense a pattern to the plot and it becomes predictable. Their writing can start to feel stale. I don’t feel this way about Moyes. Every book feels different from each other and they are each far from stale.
I couldn’t put the book down. It was fascinating to read about the horse and all this stuff I didn’t know. It was enough to interest and inform the reader, but not too much to overtake the story.
There is a lot of sadness and tragedy in the story that centered around a divorcing couple who ends up fostering a 14 year old girl. Their lives are all in upheaval, and communication between any of them is all but nil. And yet from tragedy comes beauty and understanding, and there is a lot of love here, too. No traditional love stories. I couldn’t get enough of this book.
My only complaint is that it wrapped up just a little too neatly. But I like happy endings, so I will take it.

Soon to be divorced couple Tash and Max end up randomly fostering Sara, a 14 yr old with a horse. Sara’s grandfather used to ride in famous horse academy in France and he has been training her and Boo, their horse to apply for same academy before he had a stroke.

My love affair with Jojo Moyes began with reading Me Before You in 2016, and since that day, I knew she'd always have a special place in my heart.
Even though I'm not a horse person myself, seeing horses through her eyes, and interspersed with other themes like love, family and forgiveness, I can say that this book is 'bloody terrific!'...
And, don't we all love some french loving 😍

Yes, I am giving it an extra star because it's about horses, but I honestly really did enjoy this book. It drew me in and made me care about the characters in a way I've not felt for the last 10 or so books.
It's clearly apparent the author has a love for horses too, and although the plot was fairly obvious, and the ending a touch too perfect, I ached when the characters ached and I was happy when they were happy.

I would say it’s a 3.75 stars. Been sick for a week therefore slower reading pace and annoying distraction that comes with a bad cold.

Not my favorite Jojo Moyes book - I found the characters a bit harder to fall in love with. I enjoyed the book and was invested in how it progressed. I'm glad I read it, but it's not one I would necessarily point out to others.
