Nice art and some great paneling, but not much character or plotting substance to speak of. I liked how they were consistently kinda shitty at heisting, and also when she used a painting as a shield and when the special forces commander orders a goon to shoot through it he says "but it's a Titian!"

Comics translated from the French are always a little strange, in my opinion. There seems to be stuff lost in the translation.
That said, this is an action packed adventure with three lady art thieves that is excellently drawn. It uses a lot of interesting comic techniques- like having the text tell us their hypothetical plan and the images show us what actually happened- that I really enjoyed. It had some very cinematic scenes too.
I will read the second one if I can find it!

Stunning art sells this fun story about a trio of women criminals planning a heist at the Louvre. The plot is a little thin and the characters are pretty one-dimensional but it's action-packed enough to keep you entertained to the end.

Light, fun, exciting, sexy--a book we grabbed from the library for the kids but realized that there were boobs on the third spread so rethought the audience. I read it in an hour or so, though, and quite enjoyed it.

A love a good caper and I love all things French, so this is a win-win. The Grande Odalisque is a campy, over-the-top, and fun crime caper book featuring a duo of female art thieves who are reckless in their pursuit of classical paintings in the Musée d'Orsay and the Louvre. The characterization is a bit thin but you can sense that Carole and Alex have a complex relationship.

Violent, funny, fast-paced, and sexy in that very French way, this comic is a quick read for crime fans. And the art is astounding.
