I love all of Lauren Weisberger's books. I find her snarky and funny, her writing is so descriptive and engaging, and this book followed the pattern that I love from her well.

The characters were flawed and real, while still living an aspirational lifestyle that inspired a sense of wonder and intrigue into their world. I loved that Emily struggled to adapt to the growing world of social media. I felt for the women and their messy relationships. I was laughing out loud often, and my heart hurt in solidarity for situations characters faced.

This book is fierce and funny, and would make the perfect beach or pool read this summer.

I received a digital ARC of this book from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for my review.

Audiobook - thought it was a fun and quick listen. Loved the girl gang

My least favorite of the three books but it definitely wasn't bad. Still a fun and interesting story line and a character worth getting to know more about in Emily.

3.75 stars. A ridiculous (and fluffy AF book) about a bunch of bored, verrrry privileged rich white women, but it’s entertaining and fun. Best suited for fans of the show Desperate Housewives and Bravo reality shows who want a "beach read" and to laugh. Very predictable but that it works here, making the woven stories more juicy and satisfying. Barely resembles original book/movie -- it is a total stand alone.

Meh.
To be honest, I had no idea that this was a "The Devil Wears Prada" book; I found it on a list of Top Beach reads for 2018 list. I certainly had no idea that this was the third DWP book! That said, it was okay. The story was interesting and the characters were entertaining enough. It was an easy quick read. I found myself rolling my eyes with the author's blatant name/trend dropping throughout. We get it, you know what's "in"....

WOW this was really, really good. idk why i'm surprised, i guess i was just wary bc i was mad at emily in revenge wears prada though...to be fair i'm mad at her in this too

i think having three POVs was a good thing because of that, though at first i was like what? who are these people? bc if i'm reading a series i often don't read summaries jkdsfks i just knew it was supposed to be focused on emily

ANYWAY karolina's story hit so fucking hard like absolutely insane to frame your wife for drunk driving with your kid in the car, he could've made her look like a cheater or something instead??? especially considering your own past, dude, even if it was purely an accident, you did kill a child in a car accident so. but i literally gasped when i found out about the vasectomy i was like oh this dude is EVIL evil

i wasn't expecting much from miriam's storyline at first and when she started suspecting paul of cheating and spiraling more and more i was like she HAS to be wrong, i was glad to see just how wrong she was. also, it was nice to have her, more similar to andy in that down to earth way than emily and karolina. though i think karolina was a great character, just, ya know, not relatable as a former supermodel

but man, emily. i was wary of miles because back in revenge wears prada, from andy's POV, she got the vibe from emily that miles cheated on her, but in this book, it just says he likes to flirt and whatnot, so i guess he's not really a cheater but SHE is. and i thought after that party, she would be done with alistair because she was like "you guys are all crazy" but then she carries on having this little thing with him (sidebar, also feel bad for ashley, because she ends up with alistair who is clearly not much better of a guy than her ex husband) and then miles never finds out?? he's just clueless to the fact that his wife cheated on him, it makes me sad

okay, i know these books like to exaggerate, but hearing about the people using vodka soaked tampons??? looked that up and it didn't sound like something really legit that people do. but then the plastic surgery, like i do believe there's plastic surgery for everything but uh, maybe not the custom fit vaginas sdjkfkjs HORRIFYING truly. even if people are doing that shit, it's not that common, even among the ultra wealthy i'm sure

that is a hard thing about reading these books is how many of these people are so out of touch with reality, but still manage to be snobbish about other wealthy people vs themselves. like karolina and graham just paying the same bill multiple times and not caring because they don't have to?? bonkers. the naming of all the various designer pieces of clothing characters are wearing? not as bad as pretty little liars and maybe people who live like that really can tell without seeing a tag on an item of clothing what designer it is but it's still wild. and another issue is just how...obsessed with thinness everyone is. like i know We Live In A Society that values thinness and shames any amount of fat whatsoever but it is REALLY unhealthy, especially with emily. like it was one thing working in an industry that made you feel like you had to starve yourself - we saw how even andy was affected in the devil wears prada - but once you're free of that, i just feel the characters could let themselves enjoy food once in a while. that was the nice thing with miriam, but then you had emily constantly shaming her basically every time miriam ate in front of her AND that miriam turns skinny again at the end so she's "better" for it or whatever. like, i'm glad this book wasn't out when i read the first one, because i would've read the whole series at like thirteen or something and it would have been somewhat damaging at that age

anyway i am interested in reading her other books because they ARE funny and entertaining, but yeah, i imagine they're all similar to this series, so i would definitely have to have gaps in between books because i imagine the characters in those are similar and the uber wealth and obsession with having the perfect body is just something i can only take in small doses

Im not sure if it was the book or me. But we didnt get along. Not my favorite experience unfortunately
