Really falling in love with this (pretty fluffy) literary themed murder mystery series.

I read the first book in the series and noted that it was rather dark - so is book 2. To many triggers for this series to be labeled a cozy mystery - just because the cover is cute doesn't mean the story will be. Know that going in and you will be fine. It is a good series and well written. I will pass on book 3 though.

Another fun, cozy mystery. The Secret Book and Scone Society help a stranger from out of town, and in doing so, bring some closure to their own traumas. Filled with fun characters and loads of book references. A great mystery series for book lovers.

After finishing the first book in this series several months ago, I was excited to pick up the next volume and see if Adams continued to pull me in to the lives of the Secret, Book, and Scones Society. There are some moments that seem to work out just too perfectly or people sometimes seem too 'x' to be realistic. However, the overall acre and suspense of the story kept me reading. As a book lover myself, I love how each chapter begins with a quote from an author or from a book as well as titles and authors sprinkled throughout the novel. I also appreciated even more in this book all the mouthwatering descriptions and attention paid to food and the role it can play in our lives. And, I enjoyed seeing the deepening of the friendship between these female friends.

If you're a book lover but aren't sure if mystery is for you, give this series a try.

I read the first book in this series ages ago. I find that it’s nice to have a good series in your pocket at all times.
I like the way Adams tells her story and I appreciate that there wasn’t a “Last time on…” You’re dropped back into the world and you’re expected to have the knowledge that the first book gave.
I enjoy the story, you definitely see some parts coming but I don’t think the story lacks because of that. I also am happy that Adams allows life to continue outside of the plot line. It’s not as if the world stopped while the group figured out the mystery.
