An interesting take from the perspective of a real villain

I wouldn't mind the focus of these books getting back to the main story line. They're not bad, but nothing really happens in any of them.

Faybelle is trying really hard to be be wicked but unfortunately isn't that competent. Thankfully a strong relationship with her mum and advice from Baba Yaga help to save the day.

I feel like this series is aged down from Middle Grade to Chapter Book? It isn't dealing with as big of themes anymore. Mostly I keep reading to check up on what's going on with people from other books. And because I can get through a book in like, 40 minutes.

I'm very meh about this one. It's not bad, there's just not a lot of substance. I miss the depth of the Shanon Hale books.
