Honestly, I gave up on this book. The author loves the sound of his own narrative voice and would go off on tangents that added nothing to the plot. I got so tired of waiting for him to get to the point I ran out of patience. The blurb even describes him as rambling and he takes a page and a half to describe a woman as not pretty but nice to look at. I also find in the modern world we live in with the problems we have, the terrors of these novels seem inconsequential
