Jack's not exactly my fave character but he sure is entertaining. I do love Gary

Yeah, I gave them a shot but I just really never liked Jack in the Fables books, and don't particularly like him in his own series...

A pretty fun volume although this series is in general turning out to be not quite as good as I remembered. Really liked the Jack Frost stuff though and wish there had been more of a balance between that and the Vegas arc. Also wish the art was a little bit better [the art for the Jack Frost issues is much more my preference than the regular artist for the series] but I guess this is pretty standard late 2000s comic art and it could be a whole lot worse in any case.

The further adventures of Jack, who finds himself in Las Vegas. But is Lady Luck his friend? Not so much.

Update: Here's my full review http://bookishrealmreviews.blogspot.com/2016/02/jack-of-fables-vol-1-2-by-bill.html

Surprisingly I actually liked this volume better than the first. Jack just ultimately seemed more human and he had a lot more realistic issues. Lady Luck is a pretty interesting and I think she's going to play a major role in the development of future volumes.

Honestly, if the entire series is watching Jack getting into and then out of ridiculous adventures.....I'm down for that. Here we have fallout from Jack's opening adventure, a look into his past as Jack Frost, and a Vegas adventure. Having Gary along as a sidekick is hilariously welcome. Willingham and Struges once again show a complete mastery of the characters. The art, mostly by Tony Akins was much more consistent in this collection. Overall, a very fun book!

Enjoyable and Jack is on better form.
Jack is hugely predictable, if it's not about himself, money, himself, getting laid or himself he isn't interested.
This volume does show much of an anti-hero he is and if any good occurs around him it is pure accident.
I very much enjoyed the randomness if the Belgians - best parts of the book. I also liked the final caption in issue 9 about his hair.
What I notice with the Jack of Fables stories is that while as a whole they are good, individual captions REALLY stand out.

The first volume of this series was quite enjoyable. This one...eh. Lackluster is the only work that comes to mind. Oh well, can't win them all. Still looking forward to more in the series.

This the second volume of Jack of Fables. I'm seriously wondering how much more they can squeeze for the upcoming volumes. No one is that interesting to have their own spin off and yet in total of 9 volumes.
