Where Renard the Fox gets his own story and Goldilocks is still being Goldilocks.

The end is nigh.

Eh, like with the last volume this didn't fit in with what the Fairest series was supposed to be all about--centralizing on the women of Fabletown. Instead, Reynard gets a whole romance storyline...which was fun, but felt weirdly out of place in Fairest. The other central storyline is the inhabitants of The Farm all trying to get their hands on glamour spells. The Farm stuff has never been a favorite of mine so that was especially uninteresting.

A pretty lackluster ending to the Fairest series, and it was a bit weird that this came out after the end of Fables but takes place before the finale.

Ok honestly this has no right to be under the 'Fairest' heading, titles that are supposedly all about the female fables. This one, in theory, was about Rose Red. In reality, Rose appears on approximately two pages and instead we get a story about sleazy Reynard seducing an innocent and naive farm girl who has had next to no experience with men. I am both mad and disappointed.

No idea why but this volume didn't keep my attention like the previous ones did. Not sure if it due to where the story line was going or if my focus just wasn't there. Personally I'm thinking its due to both problems. Hopefully future volumes will be back to the previous amazing caliber and will be much more interesting to read again.

What an incredible ending to the Fairest series! ...if you don't count the boring Goldilocks extra issue slipped in at the end (weak finale, guys, come on - she was among the most hated characters in Fables, and a one-woman comic that is wordy as all fuck just didn't do it for me).

The stories about the Glamours and about Reynard and Meagan were a blast. Proper levels of ups and downs, while keeping each action sequence short and moving on.

Really loved this in the long run (except, hello, was that a Bigby/Fables spoiler I spotted??).

Thus wasn't bad. It's just a bummer that this is where Fables and Fairest went out. Maybe if this had been collected and published before the finale of Fables... but alas. Also, Fairest is supposed to be about the women Fables. I came for the women fables. This is about Reynard Fox and the animals at the farm. What gives?

Ugh, what a mess this book turned out to be.
I can’t believe that the last volume in a series that’s supposed to be about the “fairest” Fables has nothing to do with the girls of Fabletown and everything to do with minor secondary characters whose story isn’t even that interesting or well developed.
This is a total SKIP/DO NOT READ, you will miss out on nothing story wise.

I was very disappointed with this.

The Fairest spinoff series was supposed to highlight the female characters in Fables. This one didn't even try. Instead it mainly focused on Reynard and wrapping up some of the minor characters on The Farm.

I also hated the silly tone. Reminded me too much of the Jack of Fables series, with Reynard filling in as Jack.

I actually DNF'd this a while ago but forgot to put it on here. I just couldn't get in to the story like I had with previous Fables and Fairest editions. I managed to get a few pages in and just felt so blah about the whole thing that I decided to turn it back in to the library and maybe try again later, especially since I had other books I needed to read before their due date as well.
