Did not enjoy prose and some form of the family tree must be used to keep track.

Had read it back in highschool, but wanted to re-read this year. A great sur-real tale about 7 generations of the Buendia family, the adventures they all had and the fate of all their members. A small recommendation, make yourself a family tree as and fill in the blanks as characters pop up. There is a lot of name repetition (as is traditional in many families) but it's easy to get lost if you don't know who they are talking about.

This was not an enjoyable book to read. Not a fan of the writing and I would never read this again. That said the story was very impactful, disturbing and haunting.
