Being a huge CF fan I was intrigued to read her new thriller-romance suspense book.
This book was okay. It kinda fell flat and definitely felt a bit repetitive.
The group of ladies all who have trauma in their pasts were all intriguing and I’m looking forward to learning more about each.
Sam and Stella were a nice couple
I knew who the serial killer was by 45% in the book
I wanted more romance/erotic scenes
This would not be the first book of CF to read

3.5 stars for this one! I was so excited for a paranormal romantic suspense thriller by Christine Feehan! I am all about paranormal and this looked like the perfect book.
Stella has been having nightmares of serial killers ever since she was a child. It started with her dad and she knew about all the things he did and her mother tried to tell her she was crazy. At the age of 4 she started seeing things no child should see, but she was made to think these things weren't real. As she got older, and was in foster care, she had one person who believed in her and she helped to save lives.
Stella now lives on Sunrise Lake and has a lot of friends that she loves and trusts, but none more than Sam. He came into her life and never asked questions. He sits by her side and is there for her everyday. He knows her better than anyone and she doesn't want to ruin their friendship by asking more from him. Sam is like a ghost. He works for Stella and doesn't talk about his past. He came in and started working and wanted to stay off the grid. When Stella begins having nightmares again, Sam is by her side, and their feelings start to grow.
I absolutely loved Sam. He was broody and quiet and the perfect gentleman.
There was a lot of build up and this book was really long. There could have been a lot that was taken out and it might have made the story better. I would like to say I didn't guess the killer the first time I was introduced to him, but I did. That made it a little bit of a let down for me, but the story still had great chemistry and suspense. I will read more by this author for sure. Thank you to Netgalley, Berkley and Christine Feehan for an early copy.

I highly enjoyed this book it shows that this author can write mystery really well and keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time I also loved the romance. I loved the characters so very much especially Stella and Sam both were interesting to read about I loved their romance I liked that is was not a fast romance. I loved Stella for her strength of character and her determination not to lose anyone else ever again no matter what it takes she was a complicated character that was easy to like. I loved Sam for his fierce protectiveness of Stella willing to do anything to keep her safe he was such a great character. I also loved Stella's friends they were a wonderfully well written group of women that all were so well fleshed out. I loved the plot it starts by telling of Stella's premonitions that started when she was young she is where she is to escape from everything her powers brought she found so many great things wonderful friends and a man she really likes though suddenly the dreams are happening again and she wants to prevent deaths eventually other people find out other things happen and she finds love there is a massive twist and there is an happy ending.

Stella has had to live for years with the fact that her nightmares are what brought down her serial killer father, leading to her mother's suicide. In the quiet of the Eastern Sierras at her resort, the nightmares have returned, meaning someone close to her is a serial killer and is about to strike down a fisherman. Her unrequited attraction to Sam, her handyman has gone on for almost the entire two years that he has worked for her, but now that there is a serial killer in their midst, Stella has to trust someone. When Sam is almost killed, she tells him about her nightmares and together, they set out to trap a serial killer.
Highly anticipated thriller, Murder at Sunrise Lake, written by paranormal superstar, Christine Feehan should be so much better than it is. The premise of the story is interesting, but the execution leaves much to be desired. Too many characters come and go, whose story lines seem to go nowhere. The romance between Stella and Sam starts out as very believable since they have been dancing around each other for two years, but the heat between them seems lukewarm at best. While the regimented dreams leading up to the serial killings is an unusual take on this trope, however, it becomes little more than a plot device by the end of the story. Overall, Murder at Sunrise Lake is a big disappointment, leaving this reader feeling a very big let down. 2 1/2 stars

I have it 3 stars because I feel it’s a great premise, I’d give it 2.5 if possible. The story just felt so damned sloooooowwwwww. So much sitting around and talking just made the book feel way longer than it needed to be. I also didn’t care for the narrators inflection as she read. The way the story was wrapped up with the killer seemed anticlimactic also. I expected way better from Christine Feehan and the way she lauded over the beauty and smarts of the characters in this book really started getting on my nerves, especially when she spoke about Zara. Maybe I’m just being overly critical, I don’t know

Not my favorite Christine Feehan book, but still a good one. The characters are interesting even beyond the main characters. Sam Rossi is an interesting character that I really came to like. Stella is a strong and resilient character that you can't help but admire. You also have to love the family they have created. I will say that I figured out who the killer was early on thought that did not really detract from my enjoyment of the book.

Murder at Sunrise Lake proves again why I love Feehan's writing. She creates amazing suspense, some seriously spine chilling moments, and romance. There is something here for everyone!
I love police procedurals, true crime, and thrillers, so when I found out Christine Feehan was writing a super suspenseful romance with heroine who could "see" a killer I was titivated for sure. Feehan weaves in some supernatural elements into all of her stories and that is another aspect that makes me love her writing. Murder at Sunrise Lake is spooky and I was creeped out many times. Because the heroine, Stella, dreams of the killers actions, you have a really unique glimpse that is gripping and creepy. I loved it! Stella doesn't want these visions, and while she wants to help put this murderer away, she doesn't want people thinking she is crazy.
Now, I will be honest and say I figured out the identity of the killer fairly quickly. Truly, I do in most books I read. I watch WAY too much crime tv. However, that didn't dull my enjoyment of the story overall! It was an interesting game of "how to catch a killer" once I figured out the who.
The romance is rock solid and I loved that. Sam and Stella are a great pair, but Sam has secrets of his own. He was a steady hero for her and I appreciated that it was minimal drama between these two.
If you like your books with touches of thriller, paranormal, romance, and suspense, Murder at Sunrise Lake is a satisfying pick that will hit all your buttons!
