If you love the movie First Daughter this book is for you! Undercover bodyguard? Sign me up! I really enjoyed this one. I liked Jane and Hendrick. He was so protective and caring. I loved the scenes with his brothers. They were there for Jane and served as great comedic relief. They had a fun dynamic. Unlike the other books we didn’t get to see much of the girls which was a bummer but Jane was more isolated due to the nature of the plot so it made sense. Unlike the previous books in the series I think one didn’t suffer the rushed ending, things were allowed to play out more. I definitely recommend this one, it was my favorite in the series!

The dynamic between Jane & Hendrick was honestly so much fun!

Jane had an instant attraction to Hendrick, but he was supposed to be her undercover bodyguard. Despite everything blowing up in their faces for a bit, they couldn't fight off the attraction once they really started spending time together and I loved every second of it! The protectiveness that Hendrick had over Jane was so heartwarming, but so was seeing Hendrick have a safe space with Jane.

Both characters had a hard past that they needed to unpack. Hendrick was forced to grow up really quick even if he didn't want to, and then was forced to make the decision to play in the NFL. When that didn't go to plan, he came back to the small town of Valley and saw that things within his family were a lot worse than he told himself they would be with his leaving. Jane jumped into fame at a young age as an actress/singer, so she never really got to experience normalcy when she was younger. Now that she is older, she chose to go to Valley University to get a taste of that normalcy. Unfortunately, not everyone was happy she was there and attracting paparazzi to the town.

The banter between Jane and Hendrick was so fun between Hendrick being a serious, broody bodyguard and Jane going after what she wanted! I loved the balance between the spice, lightheartedness, and the serious moments. The book was so well-balanced, and I loved seeing all the wallflowers being so happy from the previous books! I hope one day Hendrick's brothers will have their stories told.

Tempting the Player

Jane Greenfield ex childhood star and possibly better known as Ivy Greene. Jane had kept this secret to herself so she could have a normal college experience but when she decided to reveal herself she wishes she hadn’t. Now she’s getting threats to leave Valley U.
Though she’s getting the threats she refuses to have a bodyguard. Only the man she’s been crushing on who’s been running by her house has a secret.
He was secretly hired to be her new bodyguard…

Loved this series so sad to see it end but each of the books were so good! I definitely recommend this series to those who love college romances and sports romance! I've loved Jane since we got to know her more in Scoring the Player. She's sunshine and bubbly and sweet. And Hendrick our ex football star, grumpy mmc who is only sweet with her and his family.

I hope after this series we get the series of Hendricks brothers cause I loved them in this book!

Tropes: bodyguard romance, college romance, famous mc, forced proximity, grumpy x sunshine
