Story was meh and communication between MC's was lacking.  Also I actually thought Feinberg Piano Sonata No. 12, Op. 48 was not a real piece…

It was mid. I went to it thinking it would be a well written dark romance..the female character had so much potential they turned her maleable and wayyy too submissive for what we had in the beginning. She basically had Stockholm syndrome. Their "love story" was random and came from no where.

“I’ll make an example of any of his men who even thinks of breathing the same air you do.”

“I would have razed the earth to clean a path to you and make you mine.”

🖤 First person dual POV
🖤 First in a series that can be read as stand alone
🖤 Mafia billionaire / Hacker on the run
🖤 Forced marriage (of convenience)
🖤 Controlling MMC / Strong-willed FMC
🖤 Possessive/ protective MMC
🖤 ‘Touch her and you 💀’ vibes
🖤 Spicey 🔥 — dom/sub, pleasure/pain, explicitly taking away consent — fits the genre, not my cup of ☕️
🖤 He falls first, HARD
🖤 Well established secondary characters: Aleksandr (Book 2), Nikko (Book 3), Viktor (Book 4), Lev (Book 5), Polina, Ekaterina.
🖤 Epilogue

⚠️ Violence (explicit), death (explicit), kidnapping (explicit), pregnancy (explicit), torture (explicit), toxic relationship.

I have to admit that I don’t always like mafia/bratva books, but I do like Jane Henry. I found myself engrossed in the book and reading it fast and furiously. It is a well written book and the characters are interesting and make you want to know more.

When Aria, a hacker, stumbles onto information that puts her in danger, she needs help. A friend points her in Mikhail Romanov’s direction. Mikhail is known to be brutal, and he now has been put in the position of leadership in the bratva. If anyone can help Aria, it should be him.

It’s about a real relationship, it’s very spicy, and well worth any reading time. Jane Henry knows just how to write to make us readers want to read, and want more. This is an excellent book and I recommend it highly.
