Not only is the primary romance here losing my interest but we also apparently decided to introduce some light incest.

We've now reached the point where this has gone from slow burn to painful and do I want to continue.

CW for bullying (children)
I am flying through this series. I absolutely adore Yamato as a fellow shy person and Kakeru makes me laugh so much. The fight they had over Kakeru's insecurities was perfect, because they need to work on voicing the things they feel. It's still very much a slow burn, but I'm loving the development so far.
And I'm glad that Yamato has the two boys to talk to about his problems to about Kakeru and his relationship. Also, I like the character building of Yamato's little sister. I was worried that it might be a little inc*st, but I feel that its more admiration than romantic love.
Still loving the story and look forward to reading the next volume!

Kakeru is really funny. I don't love how everyone looks down at him for literally no reason, but I like that we are starting to see more of his personality and insecurities.

January 2023. Volume 5 of a sweet BL manga about two best friends who slowly realize (at different paces) that their feelings for one another are more than friendship and navigate their relationship and high school together.
Very sweet, I liked this quite a bit. While the premise isn’t exactly unique, it strikes a nice balance of earnestness and sweetness without feeling too silly, and provides some depth and personality to the friend group as well as too the main characters.
“I Cannot Reach You” vol 5 by Mika.

Very cute but it is also very slow, and this volume seemed if possible slower than the previous ones. Getting more of a look at Kakeru’s self-confidence issues is nice, but the relationship development is stalling.
