I love this new series I just found by an author I have always enjoyed. I was sucked in immediately and read it straight through in one sitting. Can’t wait to move on to book two.

Julian has a very bad start to what is supposed to be a night of celebration. Fortunately his evening is salvaged when Ryan runs into him at the restaurant. A very intense evening ensues and they embark on a relationship. And shortly thereafter Julian finds out that things in the world is not as he had alway thought.

The story arc moves well and the story is intense and emotional. I love the depiction of the friendship between Julian and Cash and the way it plays into the relationship between Julian and Ryan.

This is a quick read and a sweet story. The introduction of some new characters at the end gives us a preview of where the series is going.

2nd re-listen.

Sooo this is difficult 'cos I've read the story and it's awesome but boy the audio falls short and that is because the audio sucked.

Background noise, people chatting on the background. I don't know where this was recorded but it wasn't somewhere soundproofed or a studio. You'd think Dreamspinner or Audible would have actually checked the quality before releasing it.

Okay I'll go with 3 stars 'cos I really can't do less than that for a story that I have read like 4-5 times since it's release.

Short and sweet. I really liked the main character but wasn't completely sold on the Warders introduction and overall involvement in the book.

This was a go back and read because I’m my massive sweep of reading everything Calmes has ever written, I somehow missed this one.

It’s short but sweet, packs the usual Calmes punch that I love and introduces the entire Warder series quickly and without making it seem like a big info dump.

Seemed like a cute Calmes novella when random demon-fighting emerged. Weird.

Not my favourite Mary Calmes book but for some reason I kept coming back to it.
The narrator also let this one down. He doesn't really have a range of voices for the different characters so it is hard to differentiate between the characters speaking

Still continuing with the series
