I always admired Naya so much, as a person and as an actress. The book was lovely and I was happy to learn more things about her. It is true I was missing a bit more Glee stuff, but at the same time I get it - it is a book about her life, not about Glee, so it is absolutely understandable why there was only one chapter about it.
Her writing was smart and witty, I really enjoyed her storytelling and was so glad I got the chance to glimpse into her life.
I read this story while she was missing and presumed dead after swimming in Lake Piru. This made it even stronger read, especially chapters and sentences about her future plans and how she is going to grow old with Ryan and watch Josey become a man. Obviously I already knew she and Ryan got divorced two years ago, but it was still hard to read and I cried several times. I finished the book on the evening they found her body in the water...
Heartbroken.

I wasn't sure what to expect with this memoir as first of all, Naya is only around 30, so I wasn't sure how much she'd have to write about. The memoir is short, only about ten chapters, but it moves along very quickly. My opinion of Naya didn't really change too much from reading it. She isn't shy at laying it all out there with a lot of her stories and I learned that my suspicions about the Glee cast were mostly true. I would've liked more about her time on Glee to be honest. I did find her somewhat contradicting as she wrote about how she doesn't want to slam Lea Michele (as they had a rumoured feud during Glee) but goes on to mention how Lea didn't like that Naya had a bigger role, that she wouldn't talk to her for the entirety of the last season and talks about filming a scene where someone stormed off and wouldn't come back to set...although I guess in that story she only heavily alludes to it being Lea....it's a little sad to hear her talk so happily about her husband as they are now in the middle of a divorce, despite the book only coming out last year...I'm sure that will be detailed in a later book!
