This is what I call fast food fiction. Funny, fun, paranormal, some sexy bits for good measure, and a lovable smart ass protagonist. You don't need your mind for this book, just your funny bone. It is why I love this series. Total escapism. I can't wait for the next one.

Darynda Jones is always good for a lighthearted, purely entertaining read. Every one of her books makes me laugh out loud in almost every chapter. She's such a master of weaving together so many different plots all at once that the book is impossible to put down, and the end always comes too soon. As always, I'm excited for the next one.

“Who can resist a good sporking?”

Charley’s at it again. This time, we still have the cliffhanger from the last book hanging over everyone’s head, will she say yes or no to the marriage proposal from the hot, hot Reyes. Charley also finds herself in the middle of many different cases and storylines including trying to return a soul to a man who lost it in a card game to a new character, The Dealer. She’s being blackmailed into helping the mob with a case involving a witness in protective custody, she’s busy trying to make Ubie jealous by setting Cookie up on fake dates, she learns way more than she ever expected to about her ghost buddy, Angel and she’s learning more and more about the prophecy that she’s in the center of and just what exactly her abilities are – spoiler alert, she can pretty much do anything. Literally.

Every book always seems to have SO many threads to it, I’ll focus on a couple that stood out most to me. First, Reyes does some home improvement, including wall removal and it cracked me up. There’s more relationship development between Charley and Reyes as well as another book cliffhanger involving them. I’m always, always left wanting more. But I’m sort of getting to the point where I’d like to get more answers than questions in each book. I understand the series is currently open ended, which is fine with me - more Charley antics coming our way, but just when I think I’m starting to understand Charley and the supernatural beings around her, I end up not just with more questions, but also being somewhat confused. There’s one scene specifically involving Charley and Reyes that even after rereading it, I was still so confused about what just happened, how it happened and I can’t make sense of it. I’d like to see more details clarified related to this and see things progress a little more overall.

There’s always one moment in every book that has brings me to tears, and there’s another here involving Angel. GAH, yes I teared up but I loved getting some closure for his story, especially details about his past and what led to his death. It was an emotional scene and probably the one that will stick with me the most.

We get the details on one very BIG thing that Charley can do and she figures out by book’s end how to use this power. It’ll be very interesting to see her use this in the future because it’s a lot of power for someone like Charley to have. Let’s face it, she’s lucky to get dressed correctly most days, so being able to do what she can now do…scary.

If you’ve enjoyed the Charley series to this point, #6 won’t disappoint. I read this series for the pure fun and laugh out moments that only Charley can bring, and she does it again here. I could fill this entire review up with quotes that had me rolling and moments that made me smile. Sure, maybe I’d like to see the overall series storyline progress a little more, but the ride so far is a blast and I’m enjoying every crazy moment Charley gives us.

Wow, my partnerships were multiplying like bunnies on Viagra. I guess I could take on three partners: Aunt Lil, Garrett and Reyes.

We could be the Fearsome Foursome!

Or not.

Another fun read about Charley Davidson. This reminds me of Stephanie Plum if she were younger, cooler and supernatural. Always a fun, quick read!

Finding out that I never left a review for this one almost makes sense. It's a lot of info coming at you in all directions but it's just as good as the rest of the series. It's spunky, funny and heartwarming.

a fun, quick read that's an ADHD readers dream : ) I love Charley and her quirkiness. The whole demon sex, named body parts, ghost dogs and the son of Satan what could go wrong!

So, I'm almost to the number 8° that is the last installment in this series, I hope I can get some answers before that moment, in the mean time the situations are all going on and I will wait what is going to happen now.
