This is a beautiful romance. It's a slow burn romance set in the midwest. Marty lost her husband and finds herself with child. Clark needs a mother for his baby girl, Missy. He makes a deal with Marty that if she would marry him and be a mother to Missy and help him until spring he would pay for her ticket home. Marty has no idea of how to be a mother or farmer's wife. She does her best for Missy. She gets help from mother who shows her how to cook, sew, and mend. She learns about God as Clark reads his Bible and goes to church with him as the weather permits. When Clark notices the pregnancy he begins to get ready for the new arrival. Marty is touched by Clark's caring ways, but is still grieving her husband.
