I’ve had this book for years (since high school maybe) and I think I’ve read it before, but I couldn’t remember. It’s the original story for Beauty and the Beast, written in its original French. I was surprised with how much of the story I could read, considering it’s been a while since I’ve had to read any French. The illustrations by Willi Glasauer are very well done. Nice, easy read.

The book was a good read, with a nicely written ending, but it ended too quickly. And I think the ending could have been more detailed.

Is it true, then, that holding a lady in captivity for a few months and being kind of nice to her will eventually get her to agree to marry you?
Cool.

Super quick read... like half an hour. Kindle freebie, what can I say? :)

Beauty and the Beast is an earlier version of the Disney fairytale. Personally, I prefer the Disney version, it just has more potential. The length of it probably is a big reason for this, how can you put a love story in such few pages. It isn't a love story, that's how you can. This story is a find-a-kinda-good-husband-and-marry-him story.
It was OK, but nothing special.

This was 19 pages long & free on the Kindle, so why not? Pretty interesting the differences between this & the Disney movie. It sort of felt like a Beauty & the Beast/Cinderella hybrid.

Ok

It's ok, a children's story that I never really read as a child. As an adult I found it to be a little too, precious I suppose. But like I said, it's meant for small children.
